Welcome to #FactFriday! Our Fact Fridays correlate with the myth mentioned on Myth Mondays!

The myth from this week’s #MythMonday was that there is nothing one can do to lower their chances of developing breast cancer.

However, I am happy to share that that is just a myth! Luckily, the fact of the matter is that we do have some say so in the likeliness of developing breast cancer. As many debate which is more influential, nature or nurture, our nurture greatly influences the chances of us developing breast cancer. Now, when I say nurture this includes our diets, the people we surround ourselves with, and the environments we choose to spend much of our time in.

Just as our lifestyle and environment can negatively impact us, it can greatly benefit us. Fortunately, to reduce your risk of developing breast cancer you must maintain an ideally healthy weight for your height and age, exercise regularly and limit alcohol consumption.
